"In pursuit of happiness," by Neha Prakash

Happiness is not the end of everything
Neither is it the beginning of anything

Those who pursue it eagerly,
Fail to find it
Those who fight for it, always lose it

Thinking of pains that others inflicted
And looking for it in memories so restricted
Are the ones who often return disheartened and lose their way

There are those who wait for the oceans to calm down
Holding tight to false images and afraid to realize the changes,

I have known people waiting for one moment of happiness,
Through the towering piles of sadness
But fail to realize even one such instance

But there are those who have lived through sadness
And yet do not cry….
For they know it's better to smile for the ones who have been by your side

They know changes happened as they were deemed to be
For matters could have been worse
They don't wait for the sun to rise but live every moment of life
And they are the ones who find happiness by and by.
